Rice Bran Wax
Rice bran wax is a hard, crystalline, high melting vegetable wax obtained from rice husks. It consists of very long chain saturated C46-C62 esters from C20-C36 fatty alcohols and C20-C26 fatty acids. Rice bran wax functions as a consistency component in sticks and emulsions (W/O- and O/W).
Rice Bran Wax from Koster Keunen is winterized from Rice Bran Oil - not hydrogenated.
Lipsticks and lipbalms, mascara and other decorative cosmetics, emulsions
In sticks rice bran wax contributes to hardness, texture, strength and mould release. Rice bran wax can be used as a (partial) substitute for carnauba and candelilla wax in many formulations. It has exceptional oil gelling properties in relatively small concentrations. Interesting wax to use in emulsions; creating new textures.
